Song of a Landsknecht and a Courtesan
Fair Ladies of the Court prattle
Of brave Landsknecht who lives in Battle.
And before he falls grim,
Courtesan would love to finally hold him.
But in this Life it's not to be.
Their Souls are never free.
Trying not to feel betrayed,
Landsknecht and Courtesan
Have both withdrawn
Until their Charter has been paid.
Though, their own Flesh they deprave,
The Lord sees clearly
That to Money they're a Slave,
To have chosen a poorly
A Job that will lead them both into the Grave.
